Experience Iceland on a road trip along the Ring Road and some side routes. The trip is designed to last about 6 to 10 days. Along the south coast, the journey begins at the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano and leads to Vík. On the way, you'll encounter the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, the Sólheimajökull glacier, and the Dyrhólaey cape. From Vík, the route continues to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, a highlight of the trip, and through the stunning landscapes of the south coast and the East Fjords to Egilsstaðir.

From Egilsstaðir, the route goes over Mývatn to Akureyri in North Iceland. You should plan at least two days for this section, with possible detours to the Tjörnes peninsula and whale watching in Húsavík. From Akureyri, you can take a day trip on the Ring Road to Reykjavík. If you have more time, you can make side trips to the Hraunfossar waterfalls and the Vatnsnes peninsula. A day trip from Reykjavík leads to the Golden Circle, where you can explore the Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir, and Þingvellir National Park.
