Listing Overview
Originally a private, aristocratic park, it became the site of the agra agricultural exhibition shortly after World War II, attracting international visitors. However, in the past two decades, the park has significantly lost its prominence, visitors, and gardeners. Today, alongside classically beautiful park scenes and postcard-worthy spots often used as backdrops for wedding photos, there are also "dusty" areas. Additionally, the park bears visible traces of its tumultuous history, with each era attempting to inscribe its own interpretation of the world onto the landscape. To make a walk through the park a special experience, a particular perspective is helpful—one that oscillates between ironic detachment and loving, attentive observation. The starting point of the tour is located in Markkleeberg at the park entrance on Raschwitzer Straße / Parkstraße. The park can be reached by tram line 9, at the "Markkleeberg, Parkstraße" stop, or by S-Bahn at the "Leipzig, Markkleeberg" station. The route length is approximately 2.3 km.
