The audio trail begins in the village of Sauen and takes you on a journey of about three kilometers, lasting around two hours, through a representative part of the Sauener Forest. The 11 stations are marked by boulders with corresponding numbers. The circular route describes the state of the forest before, during, and after the influence of August Bier. Additionally, you will visit four art installations on the theme "Forest and Art in Context," created by students from the University of the Arts and installed directly in the forest. These artworks are explained by the artists themselves in the audio guide. Furthermore, you will learn about the burial site of Anna and August Bier, a ground pit, the Blood Beech Path, and the village of Sauen. The trail mainly goes through the forest and requires weather-appropriate footwear. The team of the August Bier Foundation wishes you an enjoyable experience.
