Listing Overview
Aryanizations during the Nazi era, archiepiscopal moral concepts, structural changes, successful protests, and clever maneuvers have significantly influenced who could conduct business and practice trades in the neighborhood. Many forces have vied for control over the Grün/Sedan district: bureaucrats at the drawing board, large factories, small craftsmen, and financially powerful real estate companies. During National Socialism, expulsions, Aryanizations, and deportations profoundly changed the neighborhood. Starting in the 1970s, it was squatters, pragmatists, and idealists who fought against the gentrification of the district.
In the audio guide "Im Grün," Anna and Arthur take you on a tour through the neighborhood. They have been silent for years, but now they are spilling the beans. Also featured are people who have squatted, protested, bought, danced, calculated, renovated, and refurbished.
