Listing Overview

Humboldthain Park was designed as a landscape with a strong connection to nature, but since its founding on September 14, 1869, the 100th birthday of Alexander von Humboldt, the park has undergone several changes. Originally, the park was a botanical garden with a greenhouse, geological walls, and an open-air vivarium for reptiles and amphibians. Later, bunkers were built there as radar installations and underground tunnels. After the park was completely destroyed, the residents rebuilt it. The size of the park was reduced, but there are still many groves, although little remains of Humboldt.

During this audio walk, we will listen to a sound composition that takes us on a route through jungles, mountains, and rivers to observe nature, identify trees, and learn about history. We will also discover a beaver that looks like a capybara, bat nests, butterflies, birds, crows, snails, bees, squirrels, stones, bamboo, seeds, leaves, roots, and ant kingdoms. It is a botanical expedition to hear the park and listen within the park.
