Lesbian on the Road – Stories from Frankfurt am Main
Listing Overview
With the audio walk "Lesbian on the Move – Stories from Frankfurt am Main," LIBS e.V. celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2022 and contributes to the history of the lesbian movement in Frankfurt. Eight stations around downtown Frankfurt invite you to explore lesbian life anew while strolling. Just as diverse and multifaceted as lesbian life is, so are the individual stations: We hear about a couple who came to Frankfurt in 1891 and caused quite a stir, a kiss in 1984 that sparked outrage and led to the founding of one of Germany's oldest women's lesbian sports clubs, and the joyful life of the 1990s. We take a detour to the gay-lesbian traffic light couples and the city's best lesbian bar for one night. We learn how the Dyke*March came to Frankfurt in 2019, what counseling work for lesbian women with migration backgrounds looks like, and how a group repeatedly and skillfully addresses sensitive issues. Enjoy your walk, listen, and discover.
