Listing Overview

Searching for the In-Between is an audio walk created by and with young people from Weimar, showcasing the city in constant transformation. Since its premiere in April 2021, several buildings have been completed while new construction sites have emerged. To improve navigation, some images of the stations in the app have been updated. The individual walk begins at the advertising column next to the restaurant 'Luise' (Steubenstraße/Humboldtstraße) and ends at Kegelplatz. It takes about 60 minutes through the center of Weimar and can be experienced with a smartphone and headphones. To save data, the audio walk can be downloaded at home in advance. It is recommended to allow the app access to your location and to use the 'Automatic Play' feature to stroll through the city guided by GPS.

Contributors include Stine Fieber, Charlotte Horstmann, Asal Imani, Paula Jama, Béla Künßler, Frida Rossi, Karol Schlaffke, and Roshanga Weiske. Artistic direction was provided by Angelika Andrzejewski and Stephan Mahn, while Rafael Jové was responsible for audio editing and sound design. Editorial assistance and project support were provided by Marvin Weiler. The production was realized by the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar in 2021 and funded by the project 'Paths to the Theater' as part of the 'Culture Makes You Strong. Alliances for Education' program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Cooperation partners included the State Coordination 'School without Racism – School with Courage,' the European Youth Education and Meeting Center Weimar, the Adult Education Center Weimar, the State Comprehensive School Jenaplanschule, and the Thuringian Comprehensive School Carl Zeiss School Weimar.
