The roughly 20-kilometer bike tour takes you from the industrial city of Stolberg through Würselen to Kohlscheid and, despite some inclines, can be easily completed by even inexperienced cyclists in a maximum of three hours. Along the way, a total of nine audio tour stations provide about five minutes of information each on remarkable episodes, protagonists, and locations in the region's migration history, inviting reflection. It becomes clear that migrants shape their own history—exemplified by successful entrepreneurs, determined workers, and the energy invested in wedding celebrations. However, they each shape their history under circumstances that can be more or less challenging. The migration history audio tour from Stolberg to Kohlscheid was funded in 2023 by the Innovation Fund for Continuing Education of the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia.
