Listing Overview

City Night Echoes is an audio walk by the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern that invites you on a nocturnal exploration of Kaiserslautern. When the streetlights cast a dim glow over the alleys, squares, and parks, and shops and cafes have long since closed, bars and pubs open their doors, and the night begins. Join us to uncover the many voices of the night. How does the city change at night? How do we move through the darkness? What new sounds emerge?

The voices of Rainer Furch, Josephine Raschke, and Aglaja Stadelmann, along with performances by Elisabeth Roth and Saba Baghaei, guide you through this nocturnal sound journey. The concept and direction are by Natascha Rose, sound design by Harald Pfeil, recordings and collages by Toni Düll, sound concept by Alexander Huhn, and dramaturgy by Victor Pohl.

The spoken texts include works by Stanisław Lem, Rainer Maria Rilke, Nelly Sachs, August Stramm, Peter Stamm, Alfred von Wolfenstein, Julienne De Muirier, Natascha Rose, Mascha Kaléko, Friedrich Wilhelm Hildebrandt, and E. T. A. Hoffmann. The route descriptions were written by Natascha Rose.

The audio walk is musically accompanied by pieces such as "Night" by Adna, "Goodnight" by Mirel Wagner, "Nightfall" by Lauren Jones, "Agents of Sleep" by Felix Kubin, "Moonlight – Instrumental" by XXXTentacion, "Mädchen Mädchen" by YAENNIVER and Luci van Org, "EDK / EDDL. day & night" by Daniel Helbig, "Interference" by LAYTBEUIS, "OUT OF BODY" by Sascha Jungbauer, "Transformation" by Sascha Jungbauer, and "blast from the past" by Sascha Jungbauer.
