This audio guide was initiated as part of a student project by students of EH Freiburg, funded by Democracy Life, and supported in production by Radio Dreyeckland. This audio guide aims to provide insights into the realities of life for Romanian and Bulgarian migrants affected by poverty and homelessness in Freiburg through six stations around the city center. Inspired by an information letter from the AK Critical Social Work and our own work, we conducted interviews with affected individuals and social workers in the summer of 2021 and compiled the collected material into this audio guide. Additionally, it includes general background information on migration, homelessness, begging, and other topics to complement the interviews and provide a comprehensive view of the subject.

Our goal was to make the various perspectives, especially those of the affected individuals, visible to the public and thus contribute to a more diverse discourse. Furthermore, the media portrayal of begging people, which is sometimes ethnophobic and anti-Romani, should be questioned.
