Listing Overview
"Disposition" by Lucas Norer is an audio walk that delves into the history and present of the Kufstein Heroes' Organ. You will hear audio collages based on original recordings, as well as text passages that explore the history and context of the Heroes' Organ. These elements stem from my artistic engagement with the Heroes' Organ, which was published as a book in 2019. The publication includes text contributions from Franz Gratl and Michael Gerhard Kaufmann, as well as my audio compositions related to the Heroes' Organ. This audio walk is an adaptation of that work.
During this audio walk, the complex history and past of the Heroes' Organ, as well as the (non-)handling of this historically burdened monument, are conveyed. The goal is to make the eventful history and present of this instrument, its use, its context, its political significance, as well as its function and aesthetics, acoustically tangible. You will visit several locations in Kufstein that bring you closer to the Heroes' Organ acoustically, but also in the context of the city and its surroundings—stations where the audio recordings for the compositions of "Disposition" were made. For optimal use, I recommend using headphones.
