The science tour takes you on a journey of about three kilometers over approximately two hours through a representative part of the Sauener Forest. At the 11 stations, marked by numbered boulders, you will learn more about the condition of the forest before and during the time of August Bier, as well as in the present day. You will also receive additional information on forestry metrics of the area. Additionally, you will visit four art installations on the theme "Forest and Art in Context," created by students from the University of the Arts and installed directly in the forest. These artworks are explained by the artists themselves in the audio guide. Furthermore, you will get to know the burial site of Anna and August Bier, a ground pit, the Blood Beech Path, and the village of Sauen. The path mainly leads through the forest and requires weather-appropriate footwear.
