"Stadtraum Bayerischer Bahnhof Leipzig" – that's the name of the new urban district set to emerge on the site of the former grand railway station in the southern part of Leipzig's center. In the coming years, new housing, schools, daycare centers, and extensive recreational and open spaces will be developed here, in line with the expected population growth. A special highlight of this project is the remaining head building of the former station hall, also known as the portico. This will also be the starting point of this audio walk, created as part of the "Jane’s Walk" festival. Join us at 11 stations on a journey through the area's development and evolution, from its heyday and decline to its revitalization and future redesign.
