Adventure Living. No God – No State – No Lease
Listing Overview
This tour follows the traces of the neighborhood's redevelopment and its impact on living conditions from the late 1970s to the present day. Many forces have contended over the Grün/Sedan district: bureaucrats at the drawing board, large factories and small artisans, financially powerful real estate companies. During the National Socialist era, evictions, Aryanizations, and deportations profoundly changed the neighborhood. Starting in the 1970s, it was squatters, pragmatists, and idealists who fought against the gentrification of the district.
In the audio guide "Im Grün," Anna and Arthur take you on their tour through the neighborhood. For years, they kept their mouths shut. Now, they are spilling the beans. Also featured are people who have squatted, protested, bought, danced, calculated, renovated, and redeveloped.
