Welcome to our Regional Park Urban Hiking Tour 5 – from Wiesbaden-East to Biebrich! We are delighted that you have chosen our audio guide tour. On this tour, you will cover approximately 14.5 km. We recommend that you allocate enough time to enjoy everything at a leisurely pace and fully absorb the unique features of the urban landscape. We have divided the tour into two stages, but of course, it can also be completed in one go.

The first stage starts at Wiesbaden-East station and ends at the Straßenmühle Inn. Near the stage transition, you can arrive or depart using public transportation (Bus 49). This line directly connects to Wiesbaden's main station. The second stage continues from Straßenmühle to Wiesbaden Biebrich station. On the second stage, you have the option to take the Tamara ferry from Schierstein Harbor to Rettbergsaue and return to the Wiesbaden Rhine bank at Biebrich Castle. This variant offers a special view of the landscape.

Wiesbaden's location is paradoxical: the city is on the Rhine and yet not, it is opposite Mainz and yet not, it is not an industrial city, but in a way, it is. The tour starts in no man's land on former Mainz territory, then leads through the "contact zone" between Rhineland village life and a sophisticated spa town, finally touching the outskirts of Wiesbaden's core city. From there, it turns back to the Rhine Valley, leading between vineyards and settlements down to Schierstein, and ends with a boat trip over Rettbergsaue to Biebrich Castle. It is a true tour de force.
